Low or Zero Silica Quartz Options

What is Silica?

Silica dust, primarily composed of crystalline silica, is a naturally occurring mineral found in various materials. The most common form of crystalline silica is quartz. When these materials are manipulated—through processes like cutting, grinding, or drilling—tiny particles of silica become airborne, creating what is known as respirable crystalline silica. This is only a danger to fabricators who do not take the appropriate health and safety precautions and doesn’t affect the end user.

Low or Zero Silica Quartz Suppliers

As the quartz market continues to evolve and face new challenges, the demand for safer, innovative materials is on the rise.

We work with many suppliers who have developed various ways of introducing new Zero or Low Silica quartz options. As a dedicated fabricator, it is our honour to work alongside these companies and offer our customers innovative technologies that help support a sustainable environment.

Some of the brands currently offering Low or Zero silica options are detailed below, along with an insight into their individual company ethos.

Revolutionising Quartz Slabs: Brachot Launches Unistone UniQ®

The construction and design industries are undergoing a transformative shift with the introduction of Unistone UniQ®, a revolutionary quartz slab material developed using patented Breton Technology. Featuring a high percentage of quartz without substitutes like feldspar or glass—commonly used yet technologically inferior—Unistone UniQ® combines the best of quartz with advanced innovation.

Designed to enhance worker safetyUnistone UniQ® eliminates health risks associated with respirable crystalline silica dust (RCS), primarily caused by non-compliant dry processing methods. By addressing these concerns and promoting sustainable manufacturing, Brachot establishes a new benchmark for safety, aesthetics, and functionality in engineered stone slabs.

At the core of Unistone UniQ® is its use of amorphous silica, a crystalline silica-free structure that eliminates hazardous dust production during processing. Produced with Breton’s patented BioQuartz® technology, UniQ offers unmatched durability, aesthetic appeal, and safety standards, making it a groundbreaking alternative to traditional quartz composites
